Free City Church holds church membership in high regard. Church members function as the primary missionaries for the church to our city. Membership is more than attending church gatherings and giving money. Members who enter into covenant relationship with us are called to a higher degree of responsibility and service. Conversely, the pastors also covenant to assist the members first and foremost: to provide counsel, service and aid, as well as to pray, teach and guide as necessary.

The first step to transition from an attendee to a covenant member is to attend our covenant membership class, Discover Free City. The class will provide you with information about church vision, mission, values, distinctive, philosophy, doctrine, etc. You’ll also have the chance to interact with our Pastors and get to know others at a similar stage in the life of the church.

After attending Discover Free City and reviewing the booklet, you will need to set up a meeting with a Pastor. In this meeting, a Pastor will learn about you, your relationship with Christ and others, and engage any questions or areas of need you may have. This meeting is nothing to be nervous about! The Pastoral interview meetings are designed to serve you, encourage you and help you as you step into our church family.

Become a member

In your Pastoral interview, you will discuss any further steps necessary to finalize your membership. In many cases, this simply means signing your membership covenant. In others cases, a Pastor may recommend additional requirements such as baptism, service, counsel, or further reflection.
