Equipping Class: Discipleship 101: How to be a Biblical Friend

  • Free City Church 1000 Kentucky Street Lawrence, KS, 66044 United States (map)

What is Discipleship?

One of Jesus’ final commands was to go and make disciples. And God’s desire for every Christian is that, over time, we would become more and more like Jesus.

Discipleship begins with friendship. It starts with being the kind of friend who knows you, loves you, encourages you, challenges you, and helps you take another step toward Christ.

This fall, Free City is offering a class designed to help us become those kinds of friends—people who intentionally seek the good of one another and help each other become more like Jesus. Each week, we’ll explore key passages of Scripture that lay the foundation for biblical discipleship, along with a practical challenge to intentionally do good for a brother or sister in Christ. Our hope is that this class will strengthen friendships, deepen community, and equip our church to become a place where discipleship happens—both formally and informally.

Because discipleship isn’t just a program. It’s ordinary people helping one another become more like Jesus.
